Samos` perfecture is one of the five prefectures of the Aegean Sea. It lies between the prefecture of Chios to the north and the prefecture of Dodecanese in the south. There are two large islands Samos and Ikaria and the group of the islands of Fourni along with a number of uninhabited islets.

SAMOS

The island of Samos is the most eastern of Greece it is close to the shores of Asia Minor and is separated by the Straits of Samos, which is two meters wide. The greatest difference is visible on the eastern coastline where the bays of Kervelis, Myrtias, Mikri Ammos and Agia Paraskevi are very well defined. On the Northern and Southern coastline only the bays of Vatheos, Marathokambo and Samou are well defined.

IKARIA

It lies between Myconos and Samos. An oblong shaped island. The coastline is rugged and there are no bays except some small ones at Agios Kerykos, Agios Nickolaos and Therma, where the hot springs are located.
