It’s a historical village known for the Inn of Gravia where Odysseus Adroutsos prevented 8000 Turks from approaching the rest of Greece , on May 8 , 1821 .

The battle arround the inn became the symbol of heroism for the first years of the Revolution .It is situated on the foot of Geroleca mountain , between the mountains of Parnassos and Giona .

After the sacrifice of Diakos in Alamana , the chieftains Panourgias and Diovouniotis contered with each other on how they would prevent Omer Vryoni and 8000 soldiers from their approach .It was then when Odysseus Adroutsos and 120 soldiers made their appearance .They decided that the main forces with Panourgias and Diovouniotis should occupy some fortifiedsites on the right and on the left of the passage , while Adroutsos should fight being inside the inn .Gouras and a hundred other soldiers followed him .The defenders in Gravia repelled the enemy’s assaults .The Turks ordered the tansport of cannons from Lamia so as to occupy the inn .During the night though , the defenders managed to get away .The Turks suffered great casualties , up to 423 soldiers .

The Greek casualties were only two men .The defence in Gravia prevented the pashas from occupying Amphissa .There is a monument in this site .It is 33 km to the north of Amphissa .The population is 887 .The village Museum has got archaeological findings , portable icons , manuscripts and local costumes .It is situated in Kastelli 3 km to the north.
