A worth-seeing, old Manian town. Its characteristic towers are a really traditional treasure. It is 106km from Sparta and it has 307 inhabitants.

The Manian villages Lania ,17km northwards, and Alika ,4km north-west. Between Alika and Batheia, there is the village of Kyparissos, where remains of the ancient city of Kainipolis of the Roman Times where found near the sea. Among the churches, this of Agia Paraskevi is considered that it is built on the position of the ancient temple of Venus and Panagia`s church on the position of Demeter`s temple.
