Mountainous village built amphitheatric in altitude of 750m in the mountain St.Georgios 97klm NW from Tripoli and has got 892 residents.
Sights:
Up to a hummock SE of the village (3klm)between the villages Galatas and Byziki the ruins of a Frank castle of Akobas which was built in the middle of the 13th century and was one of the powerful Frank Baronies.From the castle are still preserved parts of the outside walls and some towers.
In SE there’s also the church of Evagelisrtia who fires every year with big festivals.
From Byziki are getting to the abandoned village Banaina in NW in the place were used to be the ancient city Thelpousa.Are still parts of the fortified fence,ruins building of Roman Years and remains of reservoir of water.
In the sights of the area there’s also the barrage of Ladona with the hydroelectric station in NW,as getting to the village Spatharis.
