The history of Samian wines has the intoxicating scent of tradition, the ancient myths and the history of Samos. Famous Greeks, Byzantines, Turkish rulers as well as Europeans - French and Germans - honoured the Samian wines with their choice and expanded the exporting capability of the island. Famous personalities such as Hippocrates, Galinos, Theophrastos, Lord Byron etc. even the ship wreck of Kyrenia have spread the fame of the Samian wines all over the world. Since the end of the 19th century, Samos has the privilege from the Catholic Church for the production of wine for the Holy Service. The same privilege that EOSS has today.

The Samos wines are the first greek wines recognized as O.P.E. and for over a century they are the best ambassadors of the greek winemaking. This is confirmed by the international prizes and medals they receive - 1st Prize in the 9th European Forum of Vines and Wines. This is mainly confirmed by the acceptance of thousands of Greeks and Europeans who have supported the Samos wines with their choice.

EOSS ( The Union of the Samos Winemakers ) is one of the oldest Unions in Greece ( foundation year 1934 ), which collects, makes wine and sells its vine products. It is distinguised for its excellent exporting activity. With 2 modern winemaking laboratories in Malagari and Karlovasi, with a capacity of 20,000 tons and a potential of 130 people, the winemaking in Samos is progressing quickly. The EOSS conquers an important part of the European and international market every day.
