it was decided that Psara would be destroyed by the Turkish navy, Kasos
would be destroyed by the Egyptian navy and Samos by both of them united.
Indeed, the first two island were destroyed. Only Samos was left.
Before setting off for Samos, the Turkish captain sent from Lesvos an English
captain to persuade the Samians to give in willingly, promising them amnesty.
They got exactly the same answer as the one the Athenians gave to Xerxis many
years ago.
