Karalis tried to invade the island the next day as well. But he did not succeed this time either. That is why he did not
try again until he was sent some help.
The Samians were thrilled to see the Turkish efforts fail. But they were very anxious about the final outcome since Karalis
insisted on his plans. They were justified in feeling like that because no greek ship appeared and several days had gone by.
On the night of the 8th of July the front of the greek fleet finally appeared from Karlovasi and at 9:00 in the morning the
whole fleet appeared, 88 ships and 4 canon boats, with Tompazis as their captain. He sailed towards the Kovsantasi, hoping to find
the turkish fleet there. When he saw this would not happen, he headed towards Tigani. Meanwhile, passing from Eptastadion, he found
the 9 ships who would bring to Samos the turkish army after Karalis' successful, as they thought effort. He sank them all. Meanwhile,
the turkish fleet realized that the greek one was approaching and secretly left. The greek fleet went after them but there was no
sea - battle.
So the first year of the Revolution ended as well as the first danger for Samos. Samos was saved with God's help as well as the
Samians' bravery.
