A FEW WORDS ABOUT AMPELAKIA'S CULTURAL UNION
 
THE CREATION OF THE CULTURAL UNION

The cultural Union of Ampelakia was founded in 1986 and its institutive meeting took place on 23-01-1986.

The union's charter,composed of 17articles,was authorized with the approbatory resolution (number 28/1986) of the Large Court of the first instance of Larissa on 04/02/1986.The Union registered in the union's books of the Court of the first instance of Larissa with the serial number 1313/1986.

It is not a profiteering Union and its seat is in Ampelakia of Larissa.

Today the Union has 110full members.It is directed by a five-number board and it is supervised by a three-member auditing committee.They are elected by the annual regular general meeting-the supreme organ in the Union-for one year.Its taxpayer's identification number is 90263054.

The financial resources of the Union are:enrollment fees,contributions,economic assistance from the members,incomes from the cultural events,state allowances,grants,donations,legacies and any other legal means that augment union's property.

The Union offices are situated in the centre of Cultural Heritage of Ampelakia (in Ampelakia).
ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS OF THE CULTURAL UNION

Activities and events of the Cultural Union

The Cultural Union of Ampelekia has a rich activity and offer to the village.Some of its activities are the following:

  • 1st convention of studies for Ampelakia (13-14-15 of August 1994).There also was a bookfair and an exhibition of historical folklore,architectural and audiovisual material.
  • Exhibition with the theme:'Architectural heritage of Ampelakia',with paintings,photos and architectural sketches (9-17 December).
  • Speech with topic 'National Issues and talks of the 49th General Assembly of U.N.O.(United Nations' Organozation). The consul Nikolaos Kanellos was the speaker (30 April 1995).
  • Publication of the minutes of the 1st convention of studies for Ampelakia(January 1996).
  • Presentation of the same minutes (12-05-1996)
  • Reconstruction,reformation and tidying up of the ald mill(textile factory).Which was Asterios Alevizos' legacy. The mill started running again.
  • Centre of Cultural heritage of Ampelakia,that processes rich folklore,historical,cultural and electronic material.
  • On 7th and 8th may 1998 Mr Bryce Thordarson the general Director of the International Co-operative Alliance-was offered hospitality in Ampelakia.He was informed of the history of the village and its old co-operative.He also admitted that the history and course of the International Co-operative Movement should change.
  • Organization of educational excursions,theatrical and musical performances and traditional events during the summer and the carnival.
  • Active participation and co-operative actions of the newly-established Initiative Committee for the recognition of Ampelakia as a center of co-operative studies in national and international scale.
  • A lot of various events,which will made Ampelakia known to their real dimension in international level,are going to be programmed by the members of Ampelakia's Cultural Union.
